Kodak EasyShare M580: Posting your photos on Facebook, Flickr, and more

Kodak EasyShare M580 Digital Camera Review and setup instructionsIn my previous lesson you learned how to install the software for the Kodak EasyShare M580. I assume most of my instructions will also help you if you have another model of the Kodak EasyShare digital camera.

The Kodak EasyShare M580 digital camera is a great value at $100 to $199, depending on the current price. I found it very easy to use, setup, and the pictures came out great – see below. You can buy it through Amazon.com and shipping is free.

The next step is to get your photos from the camera to your favorite social networking site. I am going to focus on Facebook in this lesson but you will do similar things if you want to upload to YouTube or Flickr or send by email.

1. Turn the camera on.

2. Press the view button to see the pictures you have taken.

3. Press the OK button to select the photo you want to upload.

4. Press the Share button.

5. Use the down arrow on the round button (the one with the OK button in the middle) to move down the menu.

6. Stop on Facebook and press the OK button.

7. Turn the camera off and plug it into your computer.

8. Turn your camera back on. Wait while the Kodak EasyShare software loads.

Note: if the Kodak EasyShare software does not automatically open then double-click the icon on the desktop or in the tray area (bottom right where the time is located)

There are several ways to get the pictures you want to upload. Here is mine.

1. From theĀ  File menu click Add Photos.

2. Click on the camera on the left window and wait while the pics load in the window to the right.

3. Click on the picture you want to add and click Add Picture.

4. Click Done when you have all of the pictures you want to upload.

5. Click on a picture and click the Facebook icon on the toolbar at the top.

6. Wait until the Facebook application loads and then create a new photo album by giving it a name or click on an existing album from the list.

Note: I did have a problem with this feature as it did not show my existing albums.

Wait while it uploads the picture and click to launch the Facebook site.

7. Click on the album and click Approve photos to make them go live.

You can make changes to the name of the album, address descriptions, and rearrange your pics just as if you uploaded them directly through Facebook.

Here are some of the photos I took of New York City with my Kodak EasyShare M580 during the Kodak Bus Tour August 5, 2010
