Get Celebrity Style Beach Waves with the Remington T Studio Curling Wand

This is a brand new product and I was able to test it out so I can let you know all about it. This Remington T Studio Curling Wand comes out on the market in November (2010) and you will want to have it in your hair care tool collection. It will also make a great gift for the holidays.

I received a Remington Curling Wand when I attended the Getting Gorgeous event during BlogHer in NYC last week. This was a fabulous event run by Audrey McClelland and her crew. She had awesome sponsors and Remington was one of them. Remington was there doing hair makeovers and I sat myself right in their chair and told them to make me look beautiful.

The stylist actually used the Remington 1″ flat iron on my hair to give it a sleek look. See the result below in the picture with the blue background. My hair is naturally straight but the flat iron smoothed it out and gave my hair a silky finish. I loved it. If you buy the Remington 1″ flat iron it comes with a mini flat iron perfect for travel.

During the event Remington was showing how to get those fabulous beach waves that are so popular with celebrities these days. Celebs like Kate Hudson, Jessica Simpson, and Blake Lively are wearing their hair longer and the waves frame their face. I have wanted to try this style for awhile but never knew how to do it. I just lucked out that they were showing everyone how and demonstrating it.

My hair is just above shoulder length and I wasn’t sure if it would work but the stylist said that is a misconception – that you need super long hair to make this style work – and that I should give it a try.

You have to be very careful with this curling wand because it heats up to 410 degrees. It starts out at about 365 degrees and you can raise the temperature to 410. The Remington T Studio curling wand is a professional tool that you would find in the salons. The wand itself is covered with a pearl finish and it gives you hair a similar finish as the flat iron does.

The way you use it is to put on the protective glove you get with the wand – very important to protect your hand from the high heat – and hold the wand in the other hand. I am left-handed so I hold the wand in my left hand and put the glove on my right hand. I put the wand near my head, but not too close to burn it, and then wound the hair around the wand. The wand is fat at one and and tapers down to a 1/2″ size near the tip. If you wind your hair around the skinny end the curls will be tighter. If you want looser curls use the wider end.

Here is the result on my hair. Of course,  it is much harder to do on yourself and I would love it if I had my own stylist but I loved the results. It gives me a completely different look than I usually have with my straight hair. When my hair grows longer it will look even better.

Of course, I’m no beauty of movie star but I like to look good just like anyone. I think my hair definitely needs to be longer to give it the full “beach wave” effect. I still think it is cool and I really like my new Remington Curling Wand. You will too!

Check out all of the Remington T Studio products at www.stylewithremington.com. This is what the actual wand looks like. I will update this post once it is available to let you know where you can get it.

Oh, one thing about the wand, you have to hold the on/off button down about 3 seconds before it will turn on. You can just press it once to have it come on. Same with turning it off. It is probably a safety feature. It has a nice foot to keep it from falling over on the counter, and a long cord. Oh, and did I mention that it’s pink!

Very nice results Wendy… I purchased the wand from walmart on sale for about $18.99 and i love it. I have long Very thick hair and it usually takes me about an hour to curl with a normal clamp iron. with the wand i cut my time in half thanks to how fast the iron heats up,now it takes me 15-30 min depending on how tight i want my curls to be. Over all this is a great product from T-studio i give it ***** (five star rating).
