Free AudioBooks from AudibleKidsTurn your iPod into a learning tool with children’s audiobooks. AudibleKids is an engaging, interactive community of parents, their kids, and educators that promotes the fun of storytelling through audiobooks. Listen to books, read and post reviews, and share your favorites with others.

I was so impressed with this site. I think this would be a great year-round gift or educational tool you could use with your children. I am thinking about getting an MP3 player or iPod so I can get audiobooks for my granddaughter.

If you already have an Audible.com account you can use that to log into AudibleKids.

Here is more information about the AudibleKids site:

Want to listen to a book before you download it? No problem. Listen to a sample by clicking the green button next to the audiobook listing. And when you’re done with your first listen and ready for another, just click another sample to continue listening. When a short clip leaves you wanting to hear more, simply add the book to your cart.

Install the provided free software and download audiobooks: Installing the software is a one-time set-up allowing you to get your audiobooks on your device. If you need it installed you will be prompted and if not you probably already have it installed. If you prefer, you can also use iTunes® to download, burn to a CD, or stream right from your computer.

Transfer your audiobooks to your MP3 player: If you’ve ever downloaded music to an MP3 player (such as an iPod®) audiobooks operate pretty much the same way. They’re compatible with Apple® iPods® and hundreds of other devices and even your computer. Listening to audio on the go is one of the greatest perks of AudibleKids! Take your books on a family drive and make the trip exciting by bringing adventure inside the car.

Right now AudibleKids and RIF (Reading is Fundamental) and is offering you 10 free Audiobooks to download for your listening pleasure.

This is great! I have been using my iPod for my kids for several years now, and it is a huge help when we’re in the car. Thanks for sharing this.

Another good resource for free audiobooks is Librivox.org. The quality varies since the readers are volunteers, but our experience has been that the readers are overall very good and it’s free all the time!
